The basics
What Is GRP Fibreglass Roofing?
GRP fibreglass roofing — often called a fibreglass flat roof — is a seamless, liquid-applied roofing system built from layers of glass fibre matting and resin, finished with a hard topcoat. The result is a single, continuous, joint-free waterproof skin that is bonded permanently to the roof deck.
Because there are no seams, no joints and no weak spots, a GRP roof has exceptional resistance to standing water, UV and thermal movement. It is hard-wearing enough to walk on, can be finished in a range of colours, and a properly laid GRP roof has a life expectancy of 30 to 50 years.
GRP is a premium flat roof option popular across Worcester and Worcestershire for balconies, extensions, garages and roof terraces where a smart, durable, seamless finish is wanted. It is more labour-intensive to install than EPDM or felt, which is reflected in the price — but the lifespan and finish justify it on the right project.

How we work
Our Process
We follow the same careful process on every job — so you always know what is happening and why.
01
Free flat roof survey
We inspect the deck, falls and edge details, advise whether GRP is the right system for the roof and its use, and check the deck is sound enough to take a fibreglass system.
02
Written, itemised quote
You receive a clear breakdown of the resin, the topcoat colour, the trims and the cost. No hidden extras.
03
Strip & prepare the deck
We remove the old covering, replace or repair any unsound decking, and ensure correct falls to the outlets — GRP needs a sound, dry timber deck.
04
Lay the GRP system
Resin and glass fibre matting are laid across the deck and up the details, then a hard topcoat is applied in your chosen colour. Trims and outlets finish the job.
05
Cure & handover
The system is left to cure, checked for a seamless finish, all debris removed, and a full walkround with you. Backed by our workmanship guarantee.

Questions answered
Frequently Asked Questions
What is GRP fibreglass roofing?+
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) fibreglass roofing is a flat roof system made from layers of glass fibre matting bonded with resin, finished with a hard topcoat. It forms a single, seamless, joint-free waterproof skin bonded to the roof deck, with a life expectancy of 30 to 50 years.
How long does a GRP fibreglass roof last?+
A properly installed GRP roof should last 30 to 50 years. Because there are no seams or joints, there are no weak points to fail. The topcoat is UV-stable and the surface is hard enough to walk on, so it needs very little maintenance beyond keeping outlets clear.
GRP, EPDM or felt — which is best?+
It depends on the roof. GRP gives the hardest, most seamless finish and is ideal for balconies and terraces; EPDM is seamless and slightly cheaper with a 50-year life; felt is the budget option with a shorter lifespan. For a walk-on balcony, GRP is usually our recommendation; for a standard garage, EPDM often wins on value.
How much does a GRP fibreglass roof cost in Worcester?+
A GRP garage roof in Worcester typically costs £1,200 to £2,200. An extension roof runs from £1,600 to £3,200, and a walkable balcony from £2,000 to £4,500. We provide a free, written, itemised quote specific to your roof.
Can GRP be used on a balcony or roof terrace?+
Yes — GRP is one of the best systems for balconies and terraces because the finish is hard, walkable and seamless. We apply an anti-slip topcoat where required and dress the membrane up all upstands and details for a fully waterproof, durable walkout surface.
Can you repair my existing GRP roof?+
Yes. We carry out targeted patches, reseal failed details and re-topcoat localised areas on existing GRP roofs across Worcester. If the deck beneath is sound, a repair can extend the life of the roof considerably. We will advise honestly whether a repair or a full replacement is the better spend.
